SCAN-X

A series of transparent jars filled with dust particles are placed on a side-mounted platform.

Each complex system of fibres has its own unique structure.

Behind the jars, a horizontal scanning mechanism moves a neon tube from side to side along the platform. Through a sequence of random stops, the light source allows us to discover the unique aesthetic of each of these chaotic systems.

The scanner mechanism composes the soundscape for this laboratory specimen display.
